‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Nicholas McDonald, Luke Friend eliminated before final?
We have to admit that while we had no idea at all about who was going to be winning “The X Factor” UK this year, we did feel pretty darn confident about one thing in the results: Luke Friend was going to be the first person eliminated over the course of the final weekend. He’d been in the bottom multiple times, and was not really expected to beat Rough Copy to even make it this far.
But was there any hope at all for him to advance to the top two? He was solely reliant on having to beat out either Nicholas McDonald or Sam Bailey, and neither have been in the bottom. We’re sure that the producers were probably hoping for a Luke victory, given that he is far more marketable than the other two when it comes to making records (though we do feel like Sam appeals to a certain demographic).
So after being subjected to watching Wagner and Johnny Robinson again (though we actually were fans of Rylan Clark and Kitty Brucknell) in this “wackiest acts of all time” performance, and also a rocking performance from The Killers, we were then at the results. Predictably, Sam was the first act sent through, and it then came down to the remaining two boys. Personally, we would have preferred to see Luke over Nicholas, but the writing on the wall here was huge. Luke’s still got a big chance for a career, and he really should just be happy to make it this far.
Now, we do have the two acts that everyone predicted facing off, and there a serious question about who will and should win. Personally, we’re pulling for Sam now.
