After ‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, Kurt Sutter to work on period drama for FX
Obviously, the good news here is that Sutter fans are not going to have to wait very long to see something new that, save for violence, will feel very different from “Sons of Anarchy.” However, there will still be opportunities for him to employ a similar sort of gritty tone, and possibly even work with some of the same actors if he is interested.
This new project has risen to the top of Sutter’s to-do list, even above some other ideas that he has been working on for some time, including a possible “Sons of Anarchy” prequel (which would probably be more of a limited series than anything else) and also a dark comedy featuring his wife Katey Sagal. Suffice it to say, this guy is suddenly very busy just as his landmark hit is coming to a close. But so long as he continues to want to work, we imagining FX not wanting to let him go. After all, He has already brought them their most-successful show in history when you look just at 18-49 demo ratings alone. Unless something terrible happens in production, the odds are good for this show to make it on the air. Having an established producer like Grazer on board is also a nice touch.

For the sake of Sutters work is in a different class than most other writers I’ll probably check out this other show he’s working on BUT I don’t like the idea that this other show would take away from the prequel becoming a regular series or even made for that matter.
