ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Miley Cyrus-inspired cast will air later than expected
There are some changes coming when it comes to the sixth season of “Castle,” at least in terms of when some new episodes are going to end up airing.
The first major change that we can tease now is that “Limelight,” which is the episode featuring a Miley Cyrus sort of celebrity and also questions about whether or not Beckett can handle her fiance’s fame, is no longer going to air on Monday, January 6 as first planned. It’s now scheduled to air two weeks later on January 20. Instead, you will have “Under Fire,” a story that is reportedly about a series of arson crimes, airing as the first one of 2014.
Meanwhile the January 13 episode is now “Deep Cover,” which is reportedly the one that could feature the return of James Brolin as Castle’s father Jackson Hunt. This is a change (per SpoilerTV) from the show’s original airdate. Meanwhile, the 14th episode of the season on January 27 is still “Dressed To Kill,” which may be the one where we start to find out some more information about Beckett’s modeling past.
So why all of the changes a few weeks before the show returns? The first easy response to that is that they are coming more or less as a result of the show just taking a look at what they have in post-production, and figuring out what episodes go best in what spots. They may have realized that the arson episode is particularly strong, at least in that it would make for a great way to start off the spring season. As for the anticipated “Limelight,” this allows for a little more time to promote it. These sort of changes are pretty routine on shows that are largely procedural in nature, given that it sometimes just makes sense to put things in a different order so long as it doesn’t mess up continuity.
Any thoughts on the changes? If so, we of course welcome any and all of them with a comment below!

They’ve already promoted Limelight back at the end of 610–altho the promo was so short you really got no real info from the promo. I think the order changed because of audience impact and strength of story. I wonder, though, if ABC is aware of the lack of continuity of story across S6 in general. Really bumpy from a story continuity perspective, although there have been some good episodes.
