‘The X Factor’ UK finale spoilers: Luke Friend, Sam Bailey, Nicholas McDonald score big duets
During Sunday’s episode of “The X Factor” UK, it was surprisingly revealed that Luke Friend advanced to the finale over Rough Copy. Thanks to that, we have a final three of Luke and longtime favorites Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald.
But in this final episode, who will get an opportunity to sing with who during some of the celebrity duets that take place over the course of the weekend? These can be a factor in voting, or if nothing else, they provide a pretty cool experience for every artist to have. Following the reveal of who is getting to sing with who, though, we have already heard some conspiracy theories about producers probably favoring one act over the others. See the pairings below, and then you can share your thoughts in the comments box.
1. Luke Friend with Ellie Goulding – Right now, the conspiracy here is that Luke is getting to perform with the woman who is clearly the biggest star in the UK out of the three right now, and has even performed for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their wedding weekend. Then again, we figure that Luke is probably someone who other stars want to work with, since he has such an air of artistry about him already.
2. Nicholas McDonald and Shane Filan – Obviously, this was something that Louis Walsh probably helped to orchestrate. He was instrumental in forming Westlife in the first place, and he used Shane at the judges’ houses earlier this year. This is great for him, but it is not the same star power that Luke has.
3. Sam Bailey and Nicole Scherzinger – This one is probably pretty predictable when you think about it. The show likes to have at least one of the judges involved in a duet, and rather than try to get someone else come in to sing with Sam, Nicole checks many of the boxes. She’s a much better singer than most people realize, mostly because she is too busy trying to attach the first few letters of her last name onto the start of every word.
