‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Tamera Foster, Luke Friend, or Hannah Barrett eliminated?

The latest news -

When you look at the situation going into the “X Factor” UK results show on Sunday, it felt to us like a foregone conclusion that the bottom two would be Hannah Barrett and Tamera Foster. One had been in the bottom two twice already, and the other has forgotten her lyrics on stage two weeks in a row … which really to us means that they really don’t deserve to be in this competition anymore.

But, what tends to happen on this show sometimes is if you get your fair share of criticism from the judges, you are likely to get some sympathy votes because of it, and that’s what happened with Tamera this week. We don’t really agree with the situation, though it is a nice little change that for once, you can’t just make the argument that the voters are irrationally backing the boys week after week. We instead had Hannah shockingly paired off against Rough Copy, who gave a pretty solid performance of “Don’t Let Go” that may prove that they have some weaknesses in their fan base.

This was probably going to be one of the more difficult decisions for the judges to make, but before we give our take, let’s see how the two acts fared in the sing-off.

Hannah Barrett, “I’d Rather Go Blind” – This is the issue with Hannah. Nobody doubts her talent right now. She’s great, and she could find a good place for herself in the soul / R&B market after the show. But as her third appearance in the bottom, it’s clear that she doesn’t have the following to win the show.

Rough Copy, “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” – This probably wasn’t the best Rough Copy performance ever on the show, but they were emotional and it was still pretty great. But what we liked here was there was still an effort to really perform the song, and even Hannah (the class act that she is) was singing along.

We would have sent home Hannah, mostly because we feel like Rough Copy has the better shot of actually competing from here on out. (Remember, James Arthur was in the bottom last season.) The judges did agree, and it was sad to see her go since neither one of them deserved to go home! Our favorite part of this whole proceeding was just listening to Louis Walsh continuing to slam Tamera for forgetting her lyrics even though she wasn’t in the bottom. Grade: C (mostly because the result was ridiculous).
