‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 9 preview: Julianna Margulies and a pin disaster

The latest -

Over the past few weeks on “The Good Wife,” we have seen a story that has brought on all sorts of drama courtesy of one key subject: The decision by Alicia and Cary to leave Lockhart Gardner in order to try and start their own firm somewhere else. In theory, we definitely understand it, but at the same time they have to understand that with this move there are of course going to be some pretty serious ramifications.

One of these very things, at least according to the new sneak peek video below, seems to be just having to deal with getting annoyed repeatedly by some antics. With that, why don’t we talk about a certain “best mom” pin that is worn by a man in the sneak peek video for Sunday’s “Whack-a-Mole”? This is clearly an intentional move to annoy, and it seems to work. It’s also slightly absurd, and a little pettier than we typically see the show getting with some of its character interactions.

But in the event that you feel for whatever reason like this episode is not going to get you too excited, we’re already hearing big things about the one following this one. This fall run of “The Good Wife” is a huge step up from season 4, as most of the stories are consistent; while we’d love to see Kalinda have a little bit more to do, early indications are that this will become a reality for her pretty early on in the second half of this season.

Do you find this “Good Wife” clip to be amusing, or just a little too silly given what we typically expect from the show? Share some of your thoughts below, and click here if you want to read some more details about this episode.

As a bonus scoop, expect to see “Smash” alum Jack Davenport on an episode of the show next year. He’ll play the part of a U.S. attorney.
