‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: A few more Patrick Jane twists coming in Red John reveal

Is there a show for Sunday night more anticipated than “The Mentalist’s” big Red John reveal? While the ratings for the CBS series may no longer be as strong as they once were, there is almost no disputing in our mind that the show has found a way to really tap into something incredibly special since shifting to a more serialized format the past few weeks. We have a more interesting arc for not just Patrick Jane, but many other characters as we try our best to figure out not only if Gale Bertram is really the classic villain at the center of the show, but what happens from here on out.

While getting many spoilers on this episode are hard to do, what we can say (per TVLine) is this: This should be an episode that satisfies many out there looking for some sort of closure into what has been a long-running, at-times complicated story. There are twists aplenty, and there is also a great Jane moment where you once again realize just how smart the man really is. While the site’s Matt Mitovich claims that there is possibly a mystery that will still linger from this episode, that is disputed by other reporters.

Following this “Red John” spectacular, the December 1 episode is really going to feel in many ways almost like a new pilot. There are new characters taking on a significant role, new circumstances for Jane and Lisbon, and maybe even some new goals. You already know that at least two characters are going to be departing the series, and more recurring roles could also be checking out depending on the way in which the story unfolds Sunday. As for whether or not viewers are still interested in this new story, that remains very much to be seen.
