‘Family Guy’ voice actors Mila Kunis, Seth Green, others score huge pay raises
Now is the time for celebrating if you are a voice actor for “Family Guy,” and by “celebrating,” we mean dive head-first into piles of your own money. Not only does it look like the Fox animated juggernaut still has quite a long life left for it on network TV, but that a good many of the show’s stars are going to be looking at some hefty pay raises moving forward.
In news that was first confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, the likes of Mila Kunis (Meg), Seth Green (Chris), Alex Borstein (Lois), and Mike Henry (Cleveland) have all found a way to score some big salary increases that will allow them to earn somewhere between $175,000 and $225,000 an episode for at least the next two seasons. Depending on what Fox wants to do with the show moving forward, this deal could be extended up to five more seasons of the show.
While voice acting is a much more difficult gig than it is often made out to be, there probably is no better feeling out there than earning this kind of money for a job that you can effectively do while still wearing your pajamas and with a cup of coffee nearby. It also is not so time-consuming that you are unable to do something else with the rest of your time. Just look at some of the other gigs that Kunis and Green have for easy examples of that, as the two are among the busier actors out there in both TV and film.
So why isn’t the show creator in Seth MacFarlane included on this list? The easy answer to that is that he has a variety of other duties on the show in addition to voicing Peter, Brian, Stewie, and some other characters. his negotiations are done separately, and we imagine that Seth at this point has enough money to build an entire house out of it that can cover more land area than the majority of the homes in Hollywood. Translation? The guy’s loaded.
“Family Guy” remains a huge ratings success and it is a beast in syndication, so it’s not hard to figure out why Fox and all parties involved would want to lock up talent for a while.
