Jeff Probst looking to do another ‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water,’ but who should appear?

The latest -Since we didn’t have a “Survivor” exit interview this week (mostly because there was no one to actually interview), why not share some other goodness instead? We’re here to share some comments via Jeff Probst that could make you either elated or annoyed, depending on how you feel about this season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly’s Inside TV Podcast this week, Probst confirmed that there are already internal discussions about making another season with this “Blood vs. Water” format happen; really, the only question remaining is how they want to make it happen:

“Definitely somewhere down the line [it could come back]. We’re experimenting now with some casting ideas of how we can do it again and what’s the next version of it. Do you need returning players, or could you bring fresh couples? So we’re looking at all kinds of ideas.”

Personally, we don’t think that seeing a batch of all-new castaways would actually work here in comparison to just seeing them on their own without a twist. It would level the playing field, but there is an emotional element of including people who have watched their loved one play the game, and now they are getting a shot. What we would personally love to see are cast members who were great entertainment and great players, but people who have only got one appearance on the show under their belt. So why not consider the likes of Kim Spradlin, Denise Stapley, Shane Powers, Twila Tanner, or Kenny Hoang? We would not be so interested if a Hantz showed up, or some other person who we have seen play three times already. The only three-time players that to us would really engage us would be the ones that still (as Jonathan Penner would say) have a story to tell, whether it be redemption or undergoing interesting life changes since they last played. We’re thinking of people here like JT Thomas, Tom Westman, Corinne Kaplan, Jenna Morasca, or Rob Cesternino.

We’ll put some thought into this, and come up with a “Blood vs. Water 2” cast list during finale week (which is typically when we start to put together all wish lists).

For now, give us your thoughts about another “Blood vs. Water” below, and click here if you want to watch a preview for next week’s episode.
