‘Glee’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Chord Overstreet models and a Billy Joel tribute

Chord Overstreet -Now that the mess known as “The End of Twerk” is finally over, “Glee” fans can move forward to trying to figure out what comes next for Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and even some of the crew from McKinley High. There are some there that are beyond annoying, but also some that we do actually care about.

One of those said people? Sam Evans, and based on the first promo below for Thursday’s “Movin’ Out,” it feels like he is ready to try out a new career and prepare for what his life could be now that he is getting ever closer to graduating from McKinley High. This means, based on the promo below, that he really is going to try to give this modeling business a serious go. He’s no stranger to taking off his clothes, and who knows? Maybe his “trouty mouth” could become some sort of signature for him like the mole on Cindy Crawford’s face.

In addition to all of this, “Movin’ Out” is also going to be an episode that is all about the music of Billy Joel, which is on the surface a pretty bizarre choice for the show to spotlight given that his music was popular long before many of these students were even born. Just take a look at the synopsis below for some extra details:

“The New Directions pay homage to the Piano Man: Billy Joel. As graduation looms closer, the seniors make plans for their futures beyond the halls of McKinley.”

On some level, we’re very annoyed by the move to focus a chunk of the episode on characters that nobody really cares about anymore, but at the same time, there are at least a few people here in Artie, Blaine, and possibly Tina that we imagine are going to be a major part of the story in the Big Apple someday, and they deserve closure to their stories. As for Sam, he’s a little more up in the air since he does have his new girlfriend Penny Owen in Ohio. That’s a pretty good temptation not to move.
