NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Jacquie Lee, Matthew Schuler, Cole Vosbury poised to stay a while

Ready? -

The future of “The Voice” is starting to become a little more set in stone … at least in terms of the voting on iTunes. There are some artists this week that have become somewhat inconsistent without a doubt, but what the results really did for us this time around is show that for the first time in at least a few years, we could be due for a pretty significant changing of the guard.

For the first time, it feels like Blake Shelton may not be in the driver’s seas when it comes to having the favorite. While Cole Vosbury’s magnificent “Adorn” did really well on the sales charts, it’s not far and away in front like Danielle Bradbery and Cassadee Pope were. This is the artist that is faring the best on his team, though, and it’s ironic given that he was not even originally a Team Blake member.

Matthew Schuler of Team Christina is the clear favorite now, since his cover of “Hallelujah” (a song that we thought was already in everyone’s library a few times) dominated online. It’s the highest-ranked song of the entire season, and barely missed out on the #1 spot. His fellow teammate Jacquie Lee is the only other artist consistently in the top 20 from last night, with Cole following that.

The artists in danger feel pretty clear. While James Wolpert may not be the lock that we once thought he was, Jonny Gray (Cee Lo), Austin Jenckes (Blake), and Josh Logan (Christina) are all far and away in the back of the pack. While these iTunes sales are not everything, it’s a big indication if there is a big margin between the bottom three artists and everyone else. Of the group, we’d say that Austin is the one to be likely saved with this new Twitter twist.

The only irony here comes in that we previously saw Cee Lo keep Jonny over Cole, and he may have to see his former team member in the competition for a long time.

Do you think that there is a chance that this really is our final three on “The Voice” this season? Share below, and click here if you want to read our full review for the performance show on Monday night.
