2013 CMA Awards: Live stream the red carpet pre-show now!
For country music fans, tonight means the opportunity to see yet another entry in the pantheon of awards shows themed all around some of your favorite subject. There are around a million awards shows it seems, but at least the CMA Awards on ABC is one that often draws a significant amount of attention.
It is so popular that NBC decided not to air their results show of “The Voice” tonight … just in case you thought for even a split second that their decision to not air it tonight had anything to do with “The X Factor” being on the air. (Trust us, there is nothing that NBC would love more than to deliver a Ryu – “Street Fighter” sort of uppercut to Simon Cowell to put his show out of its misery.)
But where can you watch the red carpet show? We’ve got your hookup here, as we do for every awards show. If you click here, all you have to do is enter tweet in order to “unlock” some of the special features including multiple angles and viewers at the red carpet and more. Yes, the Twitter game is kind of annoying, but social media is turning into the king of how networks promote everything. (Hey, it’s free.) For some of you who wanted to make this show suddenly seem more and more like the “Big Brother” house (or at least every one before this summer), this is the opportunity for you to do just that.
The roster of performers for this show is enormous, as it includes everyone from Brad Paisley to his co-host Carrie Underwood along with Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Vince Gill, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Taylor Swift, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, and even Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters for some reason. It also has the typical assortment of ABC personalities presenting, including Robin Roberts from “Good Morning America” and Connie Britton from the country-based series “Nashville.”
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show … provided of course that you enjoy country music in the first place. Otherwise, find something else to enjoy. There is always “The X Factor,” or “Survivor” on CBS if you want a change of pace. We mostly feel bad for you if you’re looking for comedy tonight, since there isn’t much save for maybe “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” over on FXX.
We will have some results from the show later in the night, so keep an eye on this tag page for more. The official show begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
