ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 5 preview: Lisa Kudrow, Kerry Washington get intense

If you are in politics, there is one person you go to anytime that you have a secret: Olivia Pope. Apparently, that does not even matter if you pose some sort of conflict with her own interests. A certain Congresswoman played by Lisa Kudrow is going to pay her a visit on Thursday night’s “Scandal,” and even though they both may have their own issues, they are going to have to figure out a way in which to work together and solve a problem that she has.

Specifically, Kudrow’s character has a major skeleton in her closet that is actually not a skeleton at all; a living, breathing person. She has a daughter that she gave up when she was 15, and she has no interest in seeing this now-grown woman exposed or exploited in the campaign. There are only a tiny handful of people that even known about this development, and she wants to ensure that this is handled so that it does not become an issue. Is Olivia going to be able to help? It at least seems like she is going to try.

One important factor for Olivia making this decision is pretty simple: She cannot be particularly choosy about who she wants to help out and who she wants to leave behind. After all, just remember that this is a woman who does desperately need right now for there to be clients, as the entire public debacle regarding her relationship with Fitz gave her the last sort of attention that a “fixer” needs. While she was able to shake off the situation, there may still be some possible clients out there that feel like her name is poison.
