‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ episode 6 preview: A shake-up, and see Hayden Moss get annoyed

Meet Hayden -Wednesday night’s “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” episode is to us the first real opportunity to see how many of these people are actually going to play the game. With the token strategy for these Redemption Island seasons being to have an alliance of five people and just carry it through to the end, you need to do something in an effort to change things.

This is where the very familiar tribal swap comes into play. The idea here is to separate the alliances and see who is really good at keeping their head above water. What is really almost bizarre in looking at the way in which some of the new alliances have switched up, though, is that it feels like the new Tadhana is going to completely steamroll the other tribe in all of the competitions. Not only did Hayden Moss and Ciera Eastin land both of the Coconut Bandits in Tyson and Gervase, but they’ve also got “King Aras” (as Tyson calls him) potentially ready to take on anything intellectual that happens during some of these challenges.

Meanwhile, the new Galang tribe is basically Aras’ brother Vytas, Katie (who has done nothing in challenges to impress us), the oldest person in the game in Tina, and then the annoying Laura Boneham and sometimes-annoying Monica Culpepper. Add Kat to the mix, and you have a crazy tribe. For whatever reason, Kat and Monica in particular seem to be battling it out in this new tribe, and what is somewhat surprising to us here is that it, once again, feels much easier for them to just try to rally everyone around getting rid of Rupert’s wife. All Kat is going to do by threatening to take out Monica is cause more trouble for the returning players later. Also, why is it taking this long before we actually notice that Kat is on this season? She came out as this huge character last time, and she’s been one of the most invisible people this time around.

Meanwhile, Hayden is going to be annoyed in his own right on this coming episode, as he tries to deal with the fact that the guys coming to his tribe are basically eating all of his food. This isn’t “Big Brother,” either, where production will bring more food if you run out.
