‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: Booth and Brennan’s wedding date; plus, a new villain

For those wanting answers to pressing “Bones“related questions, let’s start here with the first one: When you are going to see the much-loved couple in Booth and Brennan actually tie the knot. This wedding has been hyped since the beginning of the season in some ways, unless you were of course some terrible cynic and thought that the two were actually going to stay apart forever.

According to TVLine, the wedding date is as follows, Monday, October 21. This comes as a bit of a surprise for us, primarily in that we always assumed that Fox was going to shove this episode in during their key November sweeps period. After all, don’t you want to do almost everything in your power to get people to watch during that month? The only good motivation to having the wedding air before that is that thanks to the Monday wedding, the show will already have the couple married off before the show moves to Fridays and it becomes harder to attract people to tune in.

This event will be one of at least emotional closure, but is it closure for the series in the slightest? Hardly, since not long after the wedding and the honeymoon take place, the two characters are going to face another threat that will take over from Pelant as the show’s token villain. Here’s how executive producer Stephen Nathan describes the character:

“We are creating a new killer who loves anonymity as much as Pelant loved being pursued.”

In other words, this is a baddie that is going to be so much more difficult to track.
