‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Another one of Gary Barlow’s singers forced to drop out
Are the producers for “The X Factor” UK going to consider not sending some of the contestants to other countries during the judges’ houses phase of the competition? So long as they continue doing this, the odds of there being someone who is forced to drop out for some reason or another remain high.
We’ve already seen the exit of one member of the group Rough Copy in Kazeem Ajobe due to an inability to get a visa to travel to New York City (where Gary Barlow is going to be alongside guest mentor Olly Murs); now, the Mirror reports that another singer in Mark Wyman of Code 4 was also not able to make the trip due in part to having a police record. This means that Code 4 is suddenly … Code 3? At least for one performance.
What remains somewhat of a mystery in this whole process is how these acts never find out much in the way of information about this process farther in advance. Why is it not a qualification by the show to make sure early on that they are eligible to get a visa? While there are occasionally examples of the judges’ houses being in Britain, the show gets a great deal of joy out of flying these people to various fancy locales, where you can get an opportunity to see a little bit of fun and a little bit of luxury in the process.
Some “X Factor” viewers are already upset, blasting the new chair challenge portion of the competition as “cruel” due to the way that singers are taking away spots from each other. The backlash is sure to be the same in America this week, especially since there is not even going to be a judges’ houses segment shown off.
Take a look here if you want to see some of the acts advancing through to the judges’ houses; we’ll be back with more news this weekend.
