‘Shameless’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Walking Dead’ alum among latest additions

Shameless -While we’re not hearing too much about “The Walking Dead” proper leading up to the fourth season of the AMC hit, would you be cool with checking out instead what some former stars are up to?

For this latest news, we turn over to Showtime’s “Shameless.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Allen McCune, who played the part of Beth’s boyfriend Jimmy back on season 2, is going to recur when the show returns next year as Matt, a pretty innocent and sweet 20-year old guy who gets potentially mixed up with the wrong member of the Gallagher clan.

Meanwhile, Danika Yarosh is also going to be an addition to the show this year, playing the part of a 15-year old who helps Debbie move more into the realm of a teenager. Every person has a friend like this in some shape or form, but what sort of complications are going to come along with that?

While “Shamless” is by no means a hit on the same level of “The Walking Dead,” it has become a steady performer and a staple of the Showtime lineup. Its ratings for season 3 were above what we had in season 2, and they could potentially increase again. Just based on the content, plus the pay-cable structure and the lack zombies, it is probably never going to be a hit on the same level as any of AMC’s biggest smashes.

There has already been some intriguing news during the “Shameless” offseason, as we learned already that Justin Chatwin is not going to be returning to the show as a series regular. There could be some more about it soon, but it could take a little bit of time before all of that surfaces.

What do you think about this news? As always, be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
