‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, and a bit of fun

Let’s start this “Vampire Diaries” article off with a very simple observation: Paul Wesley is hilarious. He is basically that guy who frequently acts like he is too cool for social situations, and while you may occasionally roll your eyes at some of the things that he says, you totally wish that you could be as snarky as him in the back of your head. He’s actually more like Damon in that way than even Ian Somerhalder is.

In the latest video below, you can see a back-and-forth between Ian, Paul, and executive producer Caroline Dries that is very entertaining. Our personally favorite fan question that Dries reads out here is if the actors could have a superpower, what would it be. Almost without thinking about it, Paul claims that he wishes his could be having the ability to punch people in the face without any repercussions for it.

What is also worth pointing out about this video is something that we have slowly seen these actors develop a little bit over the course of the past five years: Their own “characters” that they present to the fans at home. They of course act slightly different in front of fans than they would in real life, and this is something that needed a little bit of cultivating and development of its own. These guys have shown themselves to be very generous with the fans over the years, and just about as funny with them at times as they are here.
