NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 video: Check out the awesome new trailer!

That’s right: We said the word “awesome” in an article for “Revolution,” which has become at times our favorite TV punching-bag for a variety of reasons. While the trailer below does not really give us much of a sense about the acting or the storytelling coming up, it does do a great job of reminding us of some of what this series does extremely well: Create beautiful visuals, and intrigue us with the possibility of a story that could have a number of components.

We’ve said this ever since we first saw it, but we love it anytime that there is a chase through a cornfield. The textures are always fantastic to see, and this setting has a little more contrast than we got out of the North Carolina set during season 1.

There also looks to be much more of a science fiction component this time around, which is hardly in our eyes that much of a surprise given what we saw at the end of last year. We’re more interested in a show here that goes in this sort of fantastic direction, since it helps to extend the imagination a little bit more. Eric Kripke proved with “Supernatural” to us that he really excels when it comes to cultivating these sort of stories, and we have more confidence in seeing what happens when the electricity almost obtains its own physical presence in the world. It’s strange and yet stunning at the same time.
