‘America’s Got Talent’ results: Did Jimmy Rose, Kenichi Ebina, KriStef Brothers make top 12?

America's Got Talent -

Last night, we continued to hear superlatives of “America’s Got Talent” about how great and incredible everyone was. There were great moments across the board, and we really don’t feel like there was a major dud in the house.

Granted, we were still worried about the voters choosing the wrong people to go through here, given that we did have the return of Marty Brown, some emotional stories, and also kids. You always have to fear the kids on this show, especially the ones that can sing.

Before we get to the results, a shout-out to iLuminate for an awesome performance tonight. It was ironically a million times better than anything we have seen on the show from them in the past.

Group 1 – American Military Spouses Choir, Brandon James, and Timber Brown

This one could have gone either way. None of them really had the best night yesterday, but the choir had the sentimental angle going for them. We were just hoping that both singers did not advance, and sacrifice some of the variety that we have come to look forward to on the show. Brandon was the choice, and from a talent perspective, it was probably the right move. Plus, we still think that the choir is going to have tons of success at military events.

Group 2 – Chicago Boyz and KriStef Brothers

We genuinely believe that both of these two acts should move on, even if the latter guys were pretty misleading with their “sword swallowing” bit. Both of them thankfully did go through, so there’s no reason to worry. Pretty good job by America so far, right?

Group 3 – Marty Brown and Jimmy Rose

We all knew that a country singer would go through, but we’re pretty pleased that it was only one of them. Jimmy’s got himself a ticket to the top 12, and deservedly so over Marty. What does make this so interesting now is that there are only two spots left, and five acts eligible to get them. Our picks would be Kenichi Ebina and … well, we don’t care. Just give us Kenichi and we’re good.

Group 4 – Illusionist Leon Etienne and Romy Low, John Wing, and Kenichi Ebina

Kenichi advanced. No real drama here, but we’d rather see one of the other two acts in the finale over Anna Christine or the ballroom kids. They just have more range at this point.

Group 5 – Anna Christine vs. D’Angelo and Amanda

A tough decision for the judges to make. We rag on kids all of the time, but they are both very good. We would have picked the dancers since they have cumulatively been better, and America decided that the winner would be them, as well. The right choice, but a tricky one.
