‘The Walking Dead’ season 4: David Morrissey to pull double-duty with new AMC pilot
In a statement, the network had the following to say about Morrissey getting the opportunity go from cast member to series star with this new program:
“We are huge fans of David Morrissey and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta.”
The mention of the Atlanta set here is crucial for one reason: It means that you cannot and should not presume anything about his future on “The Walking Dead” based on this news. The network does desperately need some more drama projects to put on its slate when you consider where they are at right now. “Breaking Bad” is ending in a month, “Mad Men” is over next year, and “Low Winter Sun” is tanking in the ratings. “The Killing” and “The Walking Dead” are the only two franchises that could have a future right now in the scripted realm, and the former is the only one that has been renewed.
What do you think about Morrissey getting a new show on AMC, and is it something that you are excited to see? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below.
