‘Homeland’ season 3 teaser: Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and a different kind of love song
Maybe you should just go ahead and blame “Skyfall” for this, but there is something about the latest “Homeland” season 3 teaser to us that really just seems fitting for an Adele song. While this one was not written specifically for the show like “Skyfall” was for the James Bond movie, it’s still strangely weird / appropriate to have her stellar version of “Lovesong” by The Cure featured here.
The video revolves around two people who are obvious lovers (in Claire Danes’ Carrie and Damian Lewis’ Brody), but also another person in Mandy Patankin’s Saul who has a fatherly sort of love relationship with her. There is a bond there that will be tested early this season, and it’s all thanks to the CIA and even America to an extent wanting someone to blame for the Brody disaster. It’s always easier to blame someone than it is trying to figure out that there may not be someone alive to take the fall, since this was all an elaborate plan set up by Abu Nazir before he passed away.
There are plans to introduce a score of new characters, including several members of Congress, as this entire mess (and it is a mess) starts to get itself worked out. The biggest question from this teaser in our mind is whether or not Brody is really back in town, or if the scene with Carrie is some sort of vision in her head of something that she would love to see happen.
Showtime has been extremely kind as of late when it comes to handing out new content for this season. It was only mere days ago that they chose to showcase some of the first interview footage featuring some of their stars, and they also released the photo above of Brody a couple of weeks ago.
This new season starts on Sunday, September 29 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
