ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: Emily VanCamp’s dark tease

When it comes to Emily VanCamp, ABC is certainly not afraid to have you shaking in your boots, are they? “Revenge” season 3 is a little over a month away from returning to ABC, and the actress behind a different Emily is suggesting that there are some pretty dark things coming up.

Just how dark? Well, it’s not any better news following the shooting that you can see here in the first promo for the show. VanCamp specifically describes this season to E! News as “the beginning of the end” for Emily Thorne, which is not a good sign. There are two separate ways to read this: Either those bullets actually hit (and while wearing a wedding dress, no less), or Emily is going to be forced to come into the open and start living as Amanda Clarke. Given that another person in Jack now knows about the secret, it’s only a matter of time before everyone else learns about it too.

VanCamp also reiterates the token slogan of season 3 in the mini-interview, saying that this is a return to the show’s roots and a refocusing on what are some of the most-important conflicts … including what is going on between her and the Grayson family, rather than some nonsense over the Initiative or other stories that don’t really constitute anything other than filler to distract us from the primary goal. The biggest side-story that is apparent for now is Nolan in prison, but given how valuable Gabriel Mann is working with the rest of the cast, we can’t imagine that he will stay in that position forever.
