‘True Blood’ season 6 finale review: Shockers for Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, more
If you were to adequately find a way in which to describe the finale of “True Blood” on Sunday night, it would be as follows: A tale of two halves. We had a story regarding the end of Warlow, and the downfall of vampires being able to sit in the sun, and then we had a flash-forward that took us very far into the future (six months) to reveal what were ultimately some very interesting surprises from the new Bon Temps.
Let’s begin, though, by talking about the night’s biggest shockers…
Is Eric Notrhman dead? – If he is, then HBO found the worst way possible for him to go out, with him stranded in the mountains of Sweden under the sunlight, getting away from it all. We think the show wanted to give itself an option just in case Alexander Skarsgard decided not to return, but we are hoping that Pam swooped in and saved him.
Warlow is dead … and Sookie’s with Alcide! – It’s finally happened. In the flash-forward at the end of the episode, you could see this two characters finally together, and seemingly happy despite a world with hepatitis V running amok.
Jason’s still with Violet – And she is still just as much of a maneater as ever. Sorry, fans of Jessica and Jason.
The new twist – Sam Merlotte and Bill Compton have worked together to protect Bon Temps against what is effectively vampire zombies (the Sharknado of horror-TV creatures), and have an idea to pair up every household with a vampire who protects them in terms of food. An interesting idea, but few are buying it. Jessica has agreed to help out Andy and his daughter, but not in return for any blood.
Merlotte’s is now Bellefleur’s – A simple name change, but not much else to report here.
Are Tara and Wila together? – It seemed that way, and Pam was nowhere to be seen. (Another cliffhanger!)
We don’t know if the plan for next season is a great thing or not, given that “The Walking Vampires” has a strange ring to it. Even though we loved tonight’s episode for the most part, this twist has us uneasy … especially if there is no Eric and Pam around for it.
Overall, what did you think about tonight’s finale? If you want to read more about “True Blood” season 7 and other news, be sure to visit the link here.

I totally agree with everyone else! This season was SLOW going and kinda boring. I really really hope for the show’s sake that Eric comes back.and seriously it should have been waaaaaay harder to kill war low!!!! He’s like 5000 years old! And I really liked the thought of vamps in the daylight. It didn’t make since that the would lose there ability to walk in the sun cause he died. Vamps eat fairys all the time and still feel the effects aftrr. I think HBO is forgetting what they have already wrote and not carrying some of there rules threw the whole series. Lame is all I can say. New writers please!

I am with those who believe Pam will save Eric, returning home to save all their friends. I know it is predictable but it is what people need to see. Eric has played the role of saviour recently and I can not think of him ignoring his friends in need should he know of their dilemma. If his protege are in trouble he should instinctively know and respond accordingly. I agree the whole Warlow character was a but lame but he had been alluded to for awhile and needed to be dealt with in some manner. Instead of killing off all the fairies he should have tried to control them and pitted them against the humans leading to conflict with Sookie. It could have been better written! The original creator needs to be involved helping the writers get out of their rut!

I am so tired of Bill and Sookie yes the writers sprinkled in Alcide but they are still trying to force the lack of Bill and Sookie chemistry on us. The send off they gave Eric was awful I don’t care what parts they tried to distract us with. Sookie never knew he saved her brother or what he did in vamp camp because wiener Bill still likes to take credit for stuff he hasn’t done. Inside the episode of HBO trying to justify Bill to us was actually a smack in the face for us Eric fans. I guess AB, BB, and CH got the last laugh on Eric and Sookie fans at least CH gave us some books with Sookie and Eric trying to make an honest go of their relationship while HBO smacked us in the face. I know I am one fan of many but I will not be watching next season. A lot of people saying Alexander Skarsgard opted out of the last year of his contract that’s fine and dandy but just say so instead of denying or confirming the rumors. One of the reasons I pay for HBO is to watch True Blood I guess I just wasted my money like I did on the books.

Lame season. Stupid way to end. Very first episode of S6 irritated me beyond measure and went downhill from there.

My guess is they left it open just in case Alexander Skarsgard decides not to come back. If he decides to stay, then they will have a flashback of Pam saving him at the last second and the two of them will show up to stop the so called ‘walking vampires.’ That’s my theory but unfortunately we have to wait an entire year for the answer :/

Lame end to Warlow.
Lame end to Eric.
Lame end to the show.
To expand on that a bit, this season everything just got way too big. They needed to bring it back a bit and I think it was just lazily put together at the end. Tying off the loose ends for the vampire prison, the governor, Warlow, Hep V and Billith in two episodes is probably impossible to do well. Hopefully next season is a little scaled back, preferably with Eric and Pam front and center.

Fading to black after Eric meets the sun was cruel as I am sure I am not the only one to think that was the end. I am also sure that the death of Warlow was extremely anti climatic as I at least had hopes for an epic battle. Not much concern for the new vamps but someone please track down Alexander Skaarsgard and beg him to return because without Eric the show would suck and not in a good way. Most importantly, when do we get Bubba. He was by far the most entertaining character in the books. Alan Ball needs to turn it up a notch and bring his delightfully morbid side full stream into next season.

Eric can´t die, I guess Pam will save him, or that something will happen, but if he´s not in the series next season, “True Blood” will lose too many fans, and Alexander has a contract for 7 seasons.

This season has been so boring. Billith storyline, ugh. Sookie got on my nerves for most of the season, give or take a couple of funny lines. Terry dying. Nicoles storyline seemed forced. And if they killed off a fan favorite character like that, shame on them. Don’t get me wrong, I love this show and will stick with it until the end. I just have to agree with some comments I have read that the writers were pretty lazy. This whole season was just thrown together very sloppy. Hope they hit the writers room and come up with something better for next season.

Sick to my stomach! I can’t believe the whole Eric thing. I hope it was all a dream or something. The best part of the finale was Eric in the buff!

Highly disappointed. True blood has always had good, creative writing. Tonight, and last weeks, episodes just felt lazy. Really turned off on the series right now.
