‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3 spoilers: A ‘Chuck’ favorite in some ‘awesome’ casting news

More news -We don’t quite know if it is ever going to be possible for Ryan McPartlin to find another role out there with the same sort of greatness attached to it as a man who literally went by “Captain Awesome” throughout most of five seasons of “Chuck,” but you got to give the guy some credit for trying.

According to TV Guide, the actor’s next guest spot is coming via season 3 of “Hart of Dixie,” where he will be playing the part of a “Southern gentleman” who goes by the name of Carter Covington. To us, Carter Covington sounds mostly like the name of a spy who is trying to stay under wraps while living in Alabama, but something tells us that this is probably not the role he’s actually going to play. (Instead, he is considered to be one of the most eligible bachelors out there.)

There are a pair of interesting connections between “Hart of Dixie” and “Chuck,” starting with the fact that Josh Schwartz, who serves as an executive producer on the CW hit, also EPed the other series along with Chris Fedak. Meanwhile, Rachel Bilson was at one point a “Chuck” guest star.

Just for fun, we also wanted to share the video below of Wilson Bethel’s “Helping Hands” sketch on last night’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” episode, mostly because we are convinced that it may be the funniest thing that we’ve seen on the season thus far. We won’t say too much, except that you may want to give this a click if you are interested in watching the man behind Wade drink “urine” in front of a studio audience.
