‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: Emily Deschanel on early tension for Booth, Brennan

While we all want to see Booth and Brennan on “Bones” run off into the sunset together arm in arm, we also have to be realistic here when it comes to one thing: This is not necessarily going to be an easy journey for them to get back to being that the couple that they once were before Pelant came in and did what Pelant has a tendency to do… wreck everything good in the world.

By the time the second episode of the ninth season rolls around, the one about a couples retreat that will feature John Ratzenberger as a guest, there will be some improvement for our couple; but, there’s a different between improvement, and running into someone’s arms in slow motion like a romantic comedy. Just take a look at what Emily Deschanel said recently (per TVLine) for some evidence of that:

“There’s some tension there still … But as I’ve been saying, we start out in a bad place this season and it’s a slow journey to getting back together. [Entering Episode 2] we’re in a place that’s not great, but it’s better than where we started — so at least there’s hope there.”

Some of this tension should be relieved courtesy of a certain former priest that will work hard to help the couple, but there is also some that will only be resolved through time healing at least most of the wounds (and Pelant being taken down certainly would not hurt also).
