‘Glee’ season 5: Jane Lynch gets choked up talking Cory Monteith (video)

Sue SylvesterJane Lynch has to be considered a rather tough woman right about now. For someone who has already went through as many struggles as she has in her life, it’s amazing that she was even still willing to speak out at all after the way in which her July has gone. First things first, she is going through a divorce with wife Lara Embry, and you know that this has to be a pretty difficult hardship on its own; but to add to that, you have the sudden death of Cory Monteith that is still sending reverberations across the entire entertainment world.

Lynch is staying mum about her personal life, but she did talk about Monteith’s passing with a sense of great emotion. She focused on his generosity and kindness, and referred specifically to a time when the actor took the time to visit a kid across the country who was dying, and it was his last wish to meet him. Not only that, but he paid for the entire trip out of his own pocket in order to make it happen.

If there is someone who can understand the issues that Cory faced with addiction, it was Jane, who has been sober over 20 years following an addiction to cough syrup that she developed and later wrote about in her memoir. You could see her talking throughout the entire interview, and appeared on the verge of tears.

Jane was on the show primarily to promote her new series “Family Game Night,” and she went on to talk about that.
