‘Glee’ season 5 production may be delayed following Cory Monteith death
While we wait for more news and reaction to come in following the tragic death of “Glee” star Cory Monteith, the executives over at Fox are being forced to try and focus on what happens now with “Glee”; specifically, how the show is going to move forward and also find a way to celebrate his life in the process.
The first thing to consider here is that “Glee” will surely continue in some shape or form, being that this is probably what Cory would have wanted, and with the show largely having a hopeful, upbeat tone, Ryan Murphy and the rest of his staff would not want to leave their younger, more-impressionable viewers without something to look up to. They are being called upon effectively to provide healing despite suffering themselves, and while this is no easy task, perhaps they will come up with something that could benefit all parties involved.
Just as we said recently in the video below, though, it is looking likely that we will see production shifted back somewhat. According to the New York Daily News, one idea being heavily considered at present is pushing back the start of production for around a month (it was set to start next week), and then premiering the show in November following the end of baseball. This in our mind is probably the best solution for the show, given that the last thing that you want to do is rush people grieving into work, and make them start to resent the very thing that they once loved.
Remember that this is just a rumor for now, and things could change in the weeks ahead depending on discussions. Right now, the focus is obviously on trying to grapple with the tragic circumstances surrounding Cory’s death.
