‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Exec talks Giancarlo Esposito appearance
Earlier this week, the excellent news first came out that “Once Upon a Time” season 3 is going to be bringing back a guest star from its past this fall, and it just so happens to be a personal favorite: Giancarlo Esposito. He is one of the few people on the show to have basically played two separate characters from fairy-tale lore (in the Magic Mirror and also a genie), and have them both be just as excellent as his Storybrooke counterpoint of Sidney Glass. We also love that Sidney is the anti-Gus Fring: A meek, quiet man who basically does whatever Regina tells him to.
There is one person out there in the world who is just as excited to see Giancarlo back on the show as we are: Show executive producer Adam Horowtiz. Want to know more? Then just check out what the man had to say in a new post on his Twitter account:
“So thrilled to have @quiethandfilms coming back for an appearance on #OnceUponATime season 3! We missed ya, Giancarlo!”
One important slice of news in here is that this tweet does confirm that Giancarlo’s appearance is for just one episode, though this was largely expected in the first place when you consider that he has a series-regular gig on “Revolution,” which shoots pretty far away from Vancouver in Austin, Texas. So basically, he will be flying up here to guest-star on this show, and then flying back down. Esposito should at least be used to this, given that he filmed a guest spot for “Community” last year while also balancing his other gig.
