‘The Michael J. Fox Show’: Anne Heche tapped for major recurring role

While Anne Heche may not have had a hit this past year on NBC in the short-lived / barely-aired comedy series “Save Me,” it looks like she is going to have another chance of getting some attention on the network, albeit in a very different capacity.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the actress will be joining the likes of Michael J. Fox, Betsy Brandt, and others on “The Michael J. Fox Show” this fall, where she will have a recurring arc as an anchor at the NBC affiliate where Fox’s character calls his home again after long debating whether or not he is going to go back to work. (We figure that this is hardly a spoiler at this point.)

While her specific episode count is unknown, we imagine that Heche’s gig on the show could be somewhat long-term if it ends up working out, especially since you have to remember that this show was already granted a full 22-episode order by NBC (which is something that the network itself has done in a major show of confidence for a new series).

From what we’ve seen of the show so far, Heche’s character could be a great fit. While the family life is already somewhat fleshed-out, we could see plenty more in the way of details added to what has been the show’s workplace environment thus far; the more quirky, quality characters, the better off that the show as a whole is going to ultimately be.
