‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Desiree Hartsock’s brother Nate is apparently Count Dracula

There’s something both hilarious and awesome about the way in which ABC is promoting Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelorette”: By making it appear as if Desiree Hartsock’s brother Nate is actually the second coming of one of the greatest villains in human history. Seriously. At best, this is a man who just called out someone that he didn’t like for being a player, regardless of whether or not it was really the case.

Nonetheless, the video below plays some Dracula-like music as Nate arrives, and Desiree claims that she hasn’t seen Nate since the last hometown date. What, no party over Christmas? We don’t really find that comment surprising, given that he supposedly doesn’t live in the same part of the country as her. But we also find it hard to believe that Nate is going to show out of the blue and demand to spend some time with Desiree’s guys, as if this is some sort of spontaneous act on his part.

As villainous as they may make Nate appear, we like to imagine this as something more of a redemption arc for the man, and an opportunity to atone in some ways for what he said and did last time. If Nate does meet the guys and has nice things to say about one of them, then we know that he really is just an overprotective brother who wants to make sure that Desiree has the right guy in her life. If he admonishes all of them and puts them all aboard a train to d-bag town, then we know that he’s probably just out for attention and TV time.
