Is Saturday Night Live new tonight on NBC? We recognize now that more than two months have passed since the most recent season of the show. By virtue of that, why wouldn’t you want to get something more here before to too long?

Unfortunately, this is where we do have to swoop in here with the pretty unfortunate news that we are going to be waiting for a little while longer. There is no installment coming your way tonight and beyond just that, we still think that we are at least two months out from the return. It is unlikely that NBC will even confirm who the host for the premiere episodes is until we get around to September, even if it would be nice to hear something more in advance.

So is there anything more that we could be hearing about Saturday Night Live over the next several weeks? Well, if you were unaware, it was revealed not too long ago that Chloe Fineman is going to be departing the show ahead of the next season — and there is a chance, of course, that some other cast members follow. Exits are fairly common here, just as you can say the same thing about people being brought on board. There has at least be no indication that we are about to lose Kenan Thompson, which is great given that he is the longest-tenured person in the history of the show.

If there is anyone to watch now moving into next season, it is likely the continued rise of one Ashley Padilla. She easily proved to be the breakout star of this past season and if we were to guess, there is a reasonable chance that the show is going to be featuring her in a number of different capacities all over again. Why wouldn’t they, all things considered? It is just a really smart way to make another star.
