Big Brother 28: All BB Time Capsule powers, punishments

During tonight’s episode of Big Brother: Unlocked, we had a chance to get a sense of all the powers and punishments that would be a part of the season. With that in mind, just what are we looking at here?

Well, let’s begin with the powers, as these are more of the things that could radically alter the game. There are up to six of them that can be earned, with all of them coming from a previous season in some shape or form: The Diamond Power of Veto, Replay Head of Household, the Coin of Destiny (where you can overthrow an HoH with a coin flip), a Mystery Competitor, the BB Bribe, and the Never-Not Pass. Of these the Never-Not Pass is easily the most useless, as it does very little save for protecting you from being a Have-Not for the week. Conversely, the Diamond Power of Veto allows you to not just remove someone, but also name a replacement nominee.

As for the punishments, most of these are silly. We’ve already seen the Hard-Boiled Detective and beyond that we have the classic Red Unitard, the Camp Guide, the Hamazon (where you have to eat a ton of meat), the Lord of the Latrine (famous thanks to Derek X.) and the Adam & Eve joint costume from season 16. None of these really doom your game, whereas some others could end up just providing comedy.

In general, the big issue with the whole Time Capsule twist in general is that it is always going to be slanted towards Angela, Dee, and Rick Devens, as they are the three people with built-in reality TV fanbases. Given that some of the houseguests assumed they would be getting the power, isn’t that a problem?
