Severance season 3: Is filming about to actually start?

For everyone out there who has long been awaiting an update on Severance season 3, let’s just say we have good news to share!

Per Production Weekly, a reliable source for industry intel, it does appear as though the next chapter of the Apple TV hit starring Adam Scott could be kicking off production next week. Of course, dates often change and we have to expect a certain amount of unpredictability, but this does line up with the information that has been out there for some time.

So why did it take so long to get here in the first place? A lot just seems to be tied to the producers doing whatever they could to ensure that the episodes were polished and ready to go insofar as the scripts go. This is a painstaking process with a series that has this much going on. You have a lot of lore to get right and beyond just that, even planning for the scenes takes a lot of time.

So, when could season 3 actually premiere?

As great as it would be to see the series return here sooner rather than later, the reality here is that summer 2027 feels like the absolute earliest that we are going to see the show back. The hope here is that we get a formal announcement early this year, mostly to make sure that there will be a smooth process and a ton of great promotion in advance.

In the end, just remember here that this is likely not going to be the final season of Severance, as there is a season 4 all but assured — this is a story that actually needs to feel complete.
