Ted Lasso season 5: Is next chapter in the works already?

At the time of this writing, we should go ahead and note that there is no official renewal for a Ted Lasso season 5 at Apple TV. At the same time, though, doesn’t it feel likely?

Well, based at least on some early indications, that is likely to be the case and then some. Co-creator Jason Sudeikis is already looking to do another three-season arc and in a new feature at The Hollywood Reporter, the plan is for the writers to get back at work in late August. A renewal feels like a foregone conclusion, so there is no significant reason to worry about that.

As for what the next chapter of the story is going to look like here, a lot is likely going to be based further around the women’s team at AFC Richmond, which is the focus for the fourth season, at the same time. It does appear that the next batch of episodes will be shorter than what we saw in season 3, which did come under fire at times for its excessive run times and storylines that did spiral a little out of control.

Ultimately, the goal for the new season seems to be to just bring back some of the magic that was there within the first couple of seasons, which we think had the perfect mixture of both drama, comedy, and character development. We do think there are going to be new faces but within all of it, some of the charm that fans of the first three chapters really did come to know and love. It was very much an underdog story and in creating a women’s team at Richmond, there is really a chance to embrace that spirit all over again.
