Alien: Earth season 2 premiere date: A July 2026 update

As we get further into the month of July, can you expect anything more to be said regarding an Alien: Earth season 2 over at FX? Make no mistake that there is a lot of exciting stuff to look forward to here!

Where should we start? The most important thing to note from where we sit is the rather-simple fact that production on the latest batch of episodes is already underway! It started off earlier this summer, and our hope is that most, if not all, of the season can be filmed by the end of the year. That will then allow Noah Hawley and the entire team to move into the next important phase here in post-production and visual effects, a process that does take a rather significant amount of time for a show like this.

As great as it would be to have Alien: Earth back on the air within the relatively near future, the reality is that this is almost certainly not going to happen. Instead, the most-likely scenario is that we see the show return either in the summer or fall of next year. That gives proper time for the visuals and the world to be built in a way where it is perfect for TV.

Could we at least get some footage before the year is up?

There’s a tiny possibility but in the end, we think it is more likely that we see some super-stylized teasers similar to what FX gave us back in season 1. We at least know through this that the network will invest a lot of time and money into hyping the show up — and will also let us know far in advance at least some sort of approximate date. (They may still take their time giving us an exact one.)
