Dutton Ranch season 2: Will Ed Harris have more to do?

Is there any chance that Ed Harris is going to have a more prominent role in Dutton Ranch season 2 when it eventually arrives? Let’s just say that the actor himself certainly wants it, especially because he is frustrated about the amount of screen time he had over the course of season 1.
Given that executive producer Taylor Sheridan does have a knack for bringing on board big names, we were not surprised to see that Harris was brought on board the Paramount+ series as Everett alongside Annette Bening. However, one of the things that does come with top talent is giving them a lot of material, and that is something that per Harris himself, did not happen to the level he expected.

Speaking on this further in a red carpet interview with Variety, here is some of what the actor had to say about expressing his frustration to the powers-that-be:
“I said, ‘I’m feeling underused and inconsequential,’ and they kind of went, ‘Oh’ … I’m being told my character will have a little bit more to do [in Season 2]. I was just a little frustrated, to tell you the truth.”
Harris also mentions that there was a scene of him singing at the bar that was cut, something else that did cause him some aggravation. Deleted scenes of course happen, but can they at times lead to an array of hurt feelings? Absolutely, depending on the scene in question.
In the end, we already know that there are some major changes happening behind the scenes of Dutton Ranch, with a new showrunner being one of the more prominent ones. There is a chance that quite a bit could change, and it is really just a matter of waiting until the show returns to see what some changes are.
