Love Island USA season 9 premiere date hopes at Peacock

Following tonight’s big season 8 finale at Peacock, do you want to know more about Love Island USA season 9? Is it for sure happening?

With an article like this, there are of course a number of different things that we could share. However, let’s begin by noting simply that while there may not be too many official announcements out there yet, another season is a formality. Adapting the international sensation has been arguably the smartest business decision in the history of the streaming service — it is arguably either this or The Traitors. The viewership here is off the charts and still, it feels like there is room for it to grow. It is amazing that CBS had the series for a while and yet, could never do enough with it. We tend to think some of that is due to their unwillingness to push the envelope far enough — an also the limitations of network TV.

In terms of when Love Island USA will return, we don’t think there is some major question mark here. Almost certainly, you are going to be seeing the show return in June 2027. The clear format that works here is that you give viewers 5-6 weeks of condensed content and send them on their way — it makes it so that nobody gets overwhelmed.

Will there big a significant format change?

There are parts of this show like Casa Amor and Movie Night that really should be around every season, and the rest of the production can be a little more fluid. Our biggest gripe this season is the lack of Bombshells, and it felt like producers wasted too many guys on the 12-person Casa twist. There was not enough opportunity for people to explore past a certain part of the series and that spelled doom for at least a few Islanders who came in late.
