Severance season 3 premiere date: A July 2026 update
Is there a chance that we are going to hear something more about Severance season 3 between now and the end of July?
First and foremost, make no mistake that the demand is very-much clearly there. This is one of the biggest shows in the history of Apple TV for a reason! It is also one that deals with, quite frequently, the most frustrating waits. As of this writing, there is no evidence that a third season has even started up production. We know there are a lot of jokes that Ben Stiller attending all the Knicks games has slowed down the process, but that’s hardly accurate; he is not the day-to-day showrunner and while very much involved, he is not directing any of the season 3 episodes.

Ultimately, the wait for more of the show seems to be tied largely to the perfectionistic nature of the scripts for the series. Apple allows the creative team time to put together the various plot threads and the vast Lumon lore, which means it takes longer to get into production. We do still think that will happen this summer, and that may set the table for a launch at some point in 2027. This would technically mean a shorter launch than what we got between seasons 1 and 2, but this is unquestionably still a long wait that will be hard for some people to deal with.
What will be coming next season?
Understandably, most of the people involved here are not saying much one way or another. Still, we tend to think there are two primary questions that need to be answered — what happens to Irving and beyond that, whether Mark ever comes out of Lumon again.
