The Vampire Lestat season 3 episode 5: More Armand ahead?

We certainly recognize that there is a lot to anticipate with Armand on The Vampire Lestat as we move forward. This is someone who is out to try and stop the Great Conversion — he legitimately feels like what he is doing is right.

Unfortunately, the problem that Armand has is quite simple, as he does not always manage to be the most persuasive. Some of that is due in part to his lack of social skills, and also his history of burning some people who could have otherwise been allies. Ultimately, this is why his pleas to Lestat may not work all that much as they would otherwise.

Speaking to Gold Derby, actor Assad Zaman indicates what makes the version of Armand so interesting this season, especially compared to what we have seen in the past with Louis:

“Lestat sees Armand as a bit pathetic, a bit try-hard, and a bit needy … Those were my foundations, and I definitely feel Lestat’s influence on Armand in the scenes set in the past.

“But the Armand we meet in the present day is a bit more objective and authentic. Lestat will embellish and heighten peoples’ personalities, but he also has an ability to see people for who they really are, which is different than how Louie recounted his journey with these characters. But I also don’t think we’re going to see massive changes in his personality as the show moves forward. He’s always going to be that gremlin.”

The question moving forward is whether Armand has another move, given the fact that Lestat is seemingly going to push forward with his rock-star ways at Gabriella’s behest — even if there are consequences with that.
