Love Island USA season 8 episode 23: Who was brought back to the villa?

We were pretty lucky to know heading into Love Island USA season 8 episode 23 that we were going to have a chance to see two people return from Casa Amor. The question was rather simple here — who exactly they would be.

On paper, the answer here does not actually feel that complicated — shouldn’t it be Carl and Amora? They came across as the two most memorable islanders and beyond that, you can argue that they would end up actively involved in some storylines. For starters, you have Aniya, who had some interest in him before going back to KC and getting her heartbroken. Meanwhile, Amora could end up providing yet another chapter in the ongoing story that is Melanie and Sincere. (It is a little weird that some Casa Amor islanders got to go on Aftersun before re-entering the show, no?)

In the end, tonight’s results were kept on hold until the very end of the episode — which was of course torture within itself. Megan Thee Stallion eventually did declare that Amora and Carl were back and almost immediately, the two got a hero’s welcome from everyone else in attendance. Drama from the past aside, they were able to come out with big smiles on their faces.

The bummer here is that there was so little time left when the two emerged in the challenge that they could not explore any connections or even have any chats. By virtue of all this, it is fair to assume that the next episode will be especially eventful. (Even without knowing if things will work out between Aniya and Carl, we are just happy for her that she at least has a chance.)
