Murderbot season 2 premiere date: A June 2026 update

Is there a reasonable chance that we are going to hear more about Murderbot season 2 between now and then the end of June?

First and foremost, let’s just start things off by officially noting that the Alexander Skarsgard series is very-much coming back for more. Not only that, but filming is currently happening! There are still a ton of mysteries out there for what the next season will look like and honestly, for good reason. This is a show that really does emphasize the element of surprise. Also, it is filming in another country and by virtue of that, it may be hard to get a real read on what happens behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, this is where we do have to share at least a little bit of bad news — if you are wanting insight on when it is going to be coming back soon, you are going to be disappointed. Not only is Murderbot a series that takes a good while to film (despite it having shorter episodes), but there is still a lot of post-production that has to be done here after the fact. Consider all the special effects!

For those who are not aware…

If season 2 does follow the source material, be prepared to see SecUnit embark on a totally different adventure from what we saw in the first go-around. While it had found seemingly a found family in everyone at PresAux, there was a clear indicator that it wanted to really make more choices on its own. That possibility was never quite there in its original home, so this is a chance to shake things up.

Do we still want a reunion with certain characters? Absolutely but at the same time, there is some value in making us all wait. A little bit of anticipation goes a long way.
