The Pitt season 3 premiere date hopes as filming begins
Months following the end of season 2, we are thrilled to learn something more about The Pitt season 3 — to be specific, that cameras are rolling!
In a new post on Instagram, HBO Max themselves confirmed the big news by sharing a video of many of the main characters’ badges for their return to the hospital. (Hey, it looks like Whitaker got a new one!) This is also a reminder of the totality of the main characters who will be a part of the new season, and the bulk of them are fairly predictable. The only major omission here is Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh), who we have known would not be a part of the season for a good while. Now, we also recognize that we are going to see more of Parker Ellis (Ayesha Harris), who was previously a part of the night shift.

So does this video mean that we are not going to be seeing people like Joy or Emma back for more? Not necessarily. The producers have already confirmed that Emma is going to be back, and they have been more noncommittal when it comes to Joy’s future. We just tend to think that they are more supporting players than someone like Robby, Santos, or Javadi.
Perhaps the most interesting inclusion here is Dr. Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy), who has been a supporting character or even a guest star through the first two seasons. Is his presence here a sign that he will be around for more of the season? As much as we’d love that, we would not view it as a certainty at present. Instead, we may just be looking at a situation here where he is being promoted on the basis of his popularity alone.
While there is no official premiere date yet for The Pitt season 3, our general sentiment is that HBO Max wants it back in January. We’ll have to wait and see if that happens.
