Twisted Metal season 3 spoilers: Mark Hamill set as Charlie Kane

For everyone out there excited to see Twisted Metal season 3, we now have another reason to be thanks to Mark Hamill!

As confirmed in a new post over on Deadline, the Star Wars legend has been officially brought on board to play Charlie Kane, “the leader of the Eastern Sovereignty and Sweet Tooth’s (Joe Seanoa/Will Arnett, voice) estranged father.” We know that within the game series this ends up being the big-time villain Dark Tooth, but is the show going to go in the same direction? That remains to be seen.

In a statement confirming the news, here is what series star and executive producer Anthony Mackie had to say:

“For Mark Hamill to come into this world with us is amazing. He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time – a true legend who’s influenced generations of actors. Being able to now call him a castmate is an incredible honor, and we’re excited to see what he brings to the world of Twisted Metal.”

We do tend to think that getting someone of Hamill’s caliber on board Twisted Metal is a really smart way to squelch any concerns viewers may have entering the season. We do recognize that there were questions over the change in showrunners, let alone the fact that the traditional tournament as seen in the games was already done in season 2. Moving forward, we could actually be seeing more of an all-out war between some of the cities and the outsiders. We tend to think that by virtue of that, we are going to be building towards a story that is somehow similar but also still different.
