We know that The Chi season 8 episode 5 is going to be heading to Showtime in a single week’s time. What more can be said about it now?

Well, first and foremost, the title here in “The Dead of Winter” is likely meant to represent a multitude of different things at the same exact time. For starters, it may represent the emotional state for several characters as they find themselves distant or isolated. At the same time, it may also just be representative in some way of temperatures on the outside. If you’ve been in Chicago for any significant stretch of time, then you know just how bitterly cold it can be once you enter the fall and you have the wind from the lake picking up all around you.

We’ve said this before but of course, we are going into much of the rest of this story with at least some reasonable hope for the likes of Emmett and Kiesha, and for good reason. We have seen them go through so many highs and lows over the years and with the key art above being so much about love, we do want to imagine that this could be something that the two of them experience in great measure as this story continues. We know that there are going to be some additional struggles along the way — that is something we have already come to understand.
