The Last of Us season 3 spoilers: Who is Amon?

Today the latest casting news surfaced when it comes to The Last of Us season 3 over on HBO, and this one in particular is a surprise. After all, we are talking in particular about introducing someone who is not in the video game series at all.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Peter Sarsgaard is coming on board the show in the role of Amon, a leader within the Seraphites. This is someone new to the world and through that, it makes sense to wonder what sort of role they will exactly play beyond their status. It is worth noting, though, that there is a lot of story that the show may be willing to fill in — we don’t see this as dramatically changing the events of the games and rather, they may just want to add more context. Doesn’t that make sense?

Ultimately, there is another interesting wrinkle we do have to mention in here, as the show is about to embark on a planned production hiatus. The word “planned” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, as we are not looking at a situation here where things are stopping for some controversial reason.
As for when you will see The Last of Us season 3 arrive, let’s just say at some point in 2027. It will most likely be a while before we hear anything more, and it could also be a while before we learn whether or not this is the final chapter of the story. We have heard some conflicting things on that already, but we do not believe the show is going to venture beyond the original story.
