Sweet Magnolias season 6: Is it renewed, canceled at Netflix?

Following the arrival of Sweet Magnolias season 5 today on Netflix, what more is there to say in regards to a season 6? Are we going to have a chance to see more before too long?

Well, as is often the case with these articles, we begin by discussing what the streaming service is saying so far in regards to the future — as of right now, the folks at the streaming service have not said too much one way or the other here regarding what is next. Do we want to be hopeful about another chapter? Absolutely and from where we sit, it does feel like it is more than okay to be optimistic.

After all, consider the following first and foremost: Sweet Magnolias is not one of those shows that costs an extremely large amount of money to make. It also can be turned around in a short amount of time, giving Netflix a series that they can air on an almost-annual basis. That is in contrast to some of their big-budget hits like Wednesday or what they had previously with Stranger Things. There is value in these sort of shows, and we compare this one in a lot of ways to what they have over with Virgin River.

As for when a decision will be made…

In this particular instance, we do not tend to think there is a reason for anyone to wait too long. If we are fortunate, we will get a few more details by the time we get around to either the end of the summer. That gives the streamer enough time to really gauge not just how many people watched the season, but also how many made it through the entirety of it. They want to know by this particular logic that there is also a demand for the next iteration of the show.
