MobLand season 3: Helen Mirren hopes for Tom Hardy return

We know that a great deal has been made already regarding the future of Tom Hardy in MobLand, something that is especially ironic given the fact that technically, the series has yet to even be renewed for another chapter.

Are we hopeful that this is going to happen? Absolutely, though it is a process that may still take a reasonable amount of time. First and foremost, the folks over at the streamer have to decide that they want more of the show. Following that, there could still be a discussion of sorts in order to solidify what the cast looks like. There have been a number of reports detailing alleged tension behind the scenes regarding Hardy and the show’s producers but in the end, it does still appear as though a lot of this could end up working out.

If nothing else, it is nice to see that Tom has the support of those in the cast. In speaking on all of this further (via Deadline), here is some of what the iconic Helen Mirren had to say:

“We also have a very great writer, Jez Butterworth, a powerful, fantastic writer. So I really hope it’s going to happen. When you have these sort of very powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is very challenging and people can get their knickers in a twist, as we say,” she said. “But yes, we will go forward and it will But yeah, we will go forward, absolutely, and it’ll be even better.”

In the end, there is still a reasonable amount of time for a lot of this stuff to be worked out and in a way, we do wonder if the release of the second season could actually prove useful to a certain extent. After all, there is something to be said for the idea that you get a show in front of people and it builds excitement more to come back.
