Top Chef: Carolinas finale: Did Laurence, Sherry, or Rhoda win?

Heading into the Top Chef: Carolinas finale tonight on Bravo, we absolutely felt like this could be the most unpredictable one in quite some time. If you think back to the past few seasons, you could argue that there was at least a reasonable frontrunner.

As for this particular season, though, let’s just say it feels like more of a split race. You have Laurence, who has won the most elimination challenges. Then you have someone in Sherry who may be peaking at the right time and has been incredibly consistent. Finally, Rhoda has the most interesting story in that she dominated early, was eliminated, won on a great run in Last Chance Kitchen, and has done a great job since. It is easy to imagine scenarios where any of them win and it not be a controversial outcome at all.

What we knew entering the finale was that all three finalists were going to be tasked with making an epic four-course meal, one that we imagine would show off the entirety of their skill sets in the kitchen. They all, to the surprise of no one, did great — and also got Kristen Kish emotional. This is why it is truly nice to have a host who has been in their shoes.

Of course, the end of the finale was drawn out, not that this is all that much of a shock. Are they not always much of the time?

The winner is…

Rhoda! Yes, it still seems wonderfully fitting that a show hosted by Kristen gets another winner who came out of Last Chance Kitchen at some point.
