Presumed Innocent season 2 premiere date: June 2026 update

Now that we are a handful of days into June, it does feel inevitable that more news regarding Presumed Innocent season 2 will be coming before too long. Filming for the new chapter has already happened, and there is so much to be excited for regarding it!

The first thing that we should really note here is just that for those unaware, this is an entirely different story based on separate source material — you are not going to be seeing Jake Gyllenhaal return. Instead, the new series will be fronted by Rachel Brosnahan and should prove to be twisted, thought-provoking, and hopefully addicting on the same level as what we saw during season 1.

So is there any chance that we are going to get some other news regarding it soon? We would love that, and it does feel like there’s a slight chance that a announcement happens this month. If it does, though, just be prepared to be stuck waiting until at least the fall to see the show itself. Apple TV already has hits like Silo and Ted Lasso ahead and through that, you have a reminder that they likely see no need to rush anything else out there. They do not have a Pluribus level hit for October onward per our current estimations, so Presumed Innocent could help to fill in the cracks.

Is the bar sky-high here? Sure, but we really hope that the new season is next-level good, especially since that could help to usher in a whole new wave of other crime thrillers and also future seasons of this anthology, as well. Much like True Detective, it feels like you can keep some conceptual bones here and then constantly twist / change everything else.
